Succulent Planting and Care Guide:
Sunshine:
- Succulents thrive in plenty of sunlight, requiring at least 4-6 hours of light each day. However, during the hot summer months, intense sunlight may cause sunburn, so consider providing partial shade or moving the plant to a semi-shaded area.
Watering:
- Succulents do not require much water, typically needing watering every 15-20 days. Ensure the soil is completely dry before watering to avoid root rot. Adjust watering frequency based on local climate and maintain a cool, well-ventilated environment for optimal growth.
Soil Matching:
- Succulents need loose, well-draining soil. To ensure good drainage, you can add lightweight small gravel particles, such as akadama, pumice, or perlite, to the soil.
- Here are three recommended soil mix options:
- Option A: 50% particle soil (1 part peat moss + 1 part lightweight particle soil)
- Option B: 80% particle soil (1 part peat moss + 4 parts lightweight particle soil)
- Option C: 100% particle soil (using various types of lightweight particle soil)
Pot Selection:
- Using a pot with good aeration and drainage holes can effectively prevent waterlogging issues and support healthy plant growth. Choosing a decorative pot can also enhance the appearance of your succulents.
